Chess Views

I recently learned how to play chess and now I compare everything in life to a complex game of chess. What makes chess so attractive is that it is so mysterious and not just anyone can sit down and play. There are many people out here that know how to play. I used to compare it to checkers, but checkers focuses on a different skill  than chess does because everything is straight forward in checkers. In chess, pieces have meaning and there is a specific goal.

What Chess piece are you?

Bishops

      Although chess is a good mind exercise this game is not necessarily for everybody. My instinct is to react off of emotion but that mindset only leads to an opponent checkmate. If you are also emotional you should take full advantage of your bishops and do not easily sacrifice them for another piece. They are the most willing to go next to the pawns but if you know how to use them well make them apart of your attack and be willing to lose another piece because you can not gain without sacrifice. (True in life as well.)

Castles

     If you are protective then you should cherish your castles. Utilizing your castles are always important but they're more important if you feel the need to protect someone in your life. Men and women tend to be protective in different ways. Men tend to be more blunt. Women tend to be more intellectual and firm especially over their own children. Castles can often times be your last line of defense.

Pawns

     The pawns are steadfast. They have a clear mission and no matter what happens they are firm and willing to take the fall for any other piece. I like to play with my pawns when I am looking to slowly defeat my opponent. If you are a pawn player nothing rushes you. When pawns are in formation they are tricky pieces to deal with.

Knights

     Knights are almost lethal in chess... I do not personally like to use the knight because it seems like a very confrontational piece. I like to win with patience and thought. Men tend to like the knights because they are tricky to keep up with. If a person is willing to sacrifice their knight then they are telling you they do not want to play an aggressive game. That also tells you that they comfortable with sacrificing things and that can be a dangerous skill.

The Queen

     Every one's favorite pieces usually include the queen. The queen has the most power and the most options out of all the pieces even the king. To me that says a lot about life. The queen takes orders as well as gives them. The longer you keep the queen the better. She is your most valuable piece. Any 3 pieces including the queen can form a checkmate. She sometimes has to implement force on the board to protect her king from being surrounded. If someone knows how to use their queen this can be a huge key in the checkmate. I personally shy away from the queen but I am also passive aggressive. I don't like confrontation and I try to fix it in anyway I can without being violent first. I noticed that if a person does not mind setting up their queen quickly to attack they are more active aggressive which means confrontation doesn't mean much to them.

And finally...

The King

The king has a very limited role because the king only has so much responsibility. Sometimes your best bet is to do your best to protect him in the game but sometimes you have to use the king to checkmate someone in rare cases. Since he can move one space around himself at a time it makes it easier for him to protect himself if need be to a certain extent.

I would not suggest you go out there and get addicted to this game. This game was created from the strategies used in bloody wars and battles a long time ago. I only play on occassion to understand how to use logic. Play at your own risk.
